Differentiation is not just a buzzword. Separating your company's image from the pack is critical for a couple of reasons. 1) The pack seems to always be in a race to see who can go broke the fastest -- they allow themselves to fall into that trap of bidding jobs with lower and lower profit margins because they are offering the same roof systems the pack offers and thus they think price is all they have to sell. 2) Lets face it, roofers don't enjoy such a great reputation in the eyes of the consumer.

You have to separate yourself from the pack! You don't have to wear a coat and tie, but it wouldn't kill you to wear a nice polo shirt with your company logo on it when you go to see a prospective customer. And don't walk in with the prospect's proposal handwritten on a Nebs form clipped into a $1.78 clipboard you got at Walmart.
